Difference between Want and Need

A "want" refers to something that a person desires or would like to have, but does not necessarily require in order to survive or function. A "need" refers to something that is essential for survival or basic well-being.

For example, a person may want a luxury car, but they do not need it to get to work or run daily errands. On the other hand, a person needs food, water, and shelter to survive.

Another difference between want and need is that wants are usually influenced by personal preferences, emotions, and external factors such as advertising and social norms, while needs are based on physiological and safety requirements.

Finally, wants can change over time, depending on a person's circumstances or desires, while needs tend to be more constant.

In summary, wants are things that people desire but don't have to have, while needs are things that are essential for survival and well-being.
