It's All About Water Mining Epi 01

Water mining is not a widely recognized or accepted practice. However, there are some forms of water extraction that can be considered as a type of water mining.

Water mining refers to the extraction of water from underground sources such as aquifers or other natural reserves. Groundwater extraction for agriculture, industry, and domestic purposes can be considered a form of water mining.

Water mining is typically practiced in areas where surface water is scarce or not available. Over-pumping of groundwater can cause aquifers to become depleted, leading to long-term water shortages.

Water mining can also cause land subsidence, which is the sinking or settling of the land surface due to the removal of water from underground. Land subsidence can result in costly damages to infrastructure such as buildings, roads, and bridges. In some cases, the depletion of aquifers through water mining can lead to the intrusion of saltwater into freshwater aquifers, rendering them unsuitable for use.
